New Delhi: In a surprising incident that took place during the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) no Decision Review System (DRS) was available due to a power issue at Wankhede Stadium.

In the game played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), DRS was reportedly not available from the beginning of the match till until the fourth over, which resulted in batter Devon Conway being denied a review after getting adjusted out LBW.

Interestingly, the toss was delayed before the match for several minutes as well, as the floodlight towers did not receive enough power.

“Before the toss, there was a short circuit and there was an issue in the system. Because of this, the toss was delayed. One floodlight tower wasn’t getting enough power supply. Also, power supply to the broadcast production got affected, after which the officials worked to restore the system,” a Mumbai Cricket Association official told The Indian Express.

Both the circumstances left the CSK fans fuming over the unavailability of electricity in the renowned league.
